ROLE PURPOSE
The role of the ICE Travel Specialist is to handle Cruise & Package Sales and sell a variety of travel products by handling inbound and outbound travel calls from German and UK Members. Energetic communication and exceptional sales skills are key to this role which deals with selling travel products ie. cruise & tour vacations, flights, hotels, car rentals and insurance. The goal is to maximize sales opportunities on all calls.
KEY TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
• To ensure all travel sales and service calls are courteously and efficiently handled within the departmental standards
• To sell travel itineraries/products to members including as many preferred company products as possible.
• To ensure all necessary bookings and documentation are completed accurately to eliminate “write offs” and customer complaints.
• To provide specialist advice to members on all ICE products and services.
• To ensure all personal targets, objectives and sales goals are achieved.
• To ensure all regulations relating to the travel industry are adhered to.
• To ensure all members have all necessary information regarding travel requirements (e,g, visas, passports, etc).
• To have a flexible approach to suit market needs
• Keeping up to date with ICE Policies & Procedures

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION REQUIRED
MINIMUM
• Fluency in German together with excellent verbal and written English.
• At least 1 year in a previous Travel Agency Role
• At least 1 year in a previous Sales Role
• Candidate must have experience in International travel
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
MIMIMUM
• Has one year min sales experience preferably in a call centre environment
• Excellent Verbal & Written English
• ECDL or relevant experience with Windows, MS Office Environment
• Must have sound knowledge of customer service principles and practices
• Familiarity with telephone techniques and skills
DESIRABLE
• Travel, Cruise & Package Experience
• Multi-Lingual
• Experience working with Galileo, Amadeus and Back Office Systems
• Previous Exposure to Automated Call Distribution System
RELEVANT CAREER HISTORY/EXPERIENCE NECESSARY TO FULFILL THE JOB ROLE
MINIMUM
• Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) in a fast moving and multi-lingual team
• Must be able to adapt to change, meet the changing demands of a dynamic work environment
• Must have sound judgemental capability: ability to manage difficult customer situations, respond promptly to the needs of the customer, solicit feedback and respond to requests for service/assistance
• Ensure a professional and prompt service is delivered to members at all times
• Must have excellent geography knowledge
• Experience within the GermanTravel Industry
